My name is Megan Luce and I'm from Southern California. I'm 15 and have been playing drums for three and a half years. Having a passion for drumming, I work hard to develop my technique as much as possible. Playing for churches is a big part of my life. Without this experience, I definitely wouldn't be where I am today. I have also performed at other venues and have had the privilege of playing with some very talented musicians out here in L.A. Some of my influences are Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, Hannah Ford, Chaun Horton, Gene Krupa, Carter Beauford, Aaron Spears, Cobus Potgieter, and David Garibaldi.
I'm known for drumming barefoot! I find that it's very comfortable and I have better control of the kick pedal. Not only do I drum barefoot, but I occasionally have some funny looking, as I call them, “funk faces” when I play!
I truly want people to see a girl playing the drums filled with God's love, not just a girl playing drums. This is what I always say, “Drumming isn't just about keeping a tight groove or being in the pocket, it's about the joy you feel when God hits you harder than how you're hitting that snare drum.”

I am completely awestruck at the talent that you possess at such a young age. This is truly an expample of someone who was born and blessed with a rare talent. We can see how your music flows through you. You are obviously allowing yourself to be a vesel and you a freely and joyfully allowing your talent to flow through you like water… I wish I could express in words what I feel when I watch you play.

Very (!) nice job, Megan. I had to comment, because the one thing no one has mentioned is the great selection you choose. Upbeat jazz offer a great opportunity to make or break a drummer. I played jazz for 20 years & and can see ‘the feel’ you have for it. I also appreciate your recognition of the talent God has given you & the fact that you are ‘lighting up’ His Kingdom inside and outside of His house. Hi, Megan. I’m a drummer and a music instructor, I’ve been a full-time working drummer for 20 years and I started studying when I was 6. I teach your fellow contestant Brooke Hord. I’m considered a good drummer and I think you’re every bit as good as I am. And you’re a quarter of a century younger! Haha
Anyway, I think you’re awesome and I think you have a bright future ahead of you. There are a lot of talented girls in this contest, but since it’s based on voting, the best aren’t necessarily in the top ten. I think you deserve to be there though and I hope you make it to the finals with a Wildcard Vote. Best of luck, Megan.
